What to Expect of
Our Seaplane Safari
at Melbourne
At Sun City Aviation Academy, we train pilots to confidently and safely operate some of aviation’s most dynamic aircraft. Not only will you obtain your seaplane rating but may receive your complex and high performance endorsement all in one! Through our specially designed Seaplane Safari Course, you will gain the versatility and precision needed to earn your prestigious seaplane rating in Florida.
Throughout your ASES rating training, you’ll receive comprehensive ground and flight instruction covering essential operations. From mastering glassy-water landings to executing departures from remote waterways, our structured curriculum prepares you for the unique challenges and remarkable rewards of amphibious flying.
This specialized program is ideal for both experienced aviators and pilots brand new to water operations. Your training requires a minimum of 8 hours of dual flight instruction and 5 hours of dedicated ground instruction, guaranteeing you are 100% prepared for safe, successful flights.
Course Requirements
- Eligibility
Private or Commercial Pilot Certificate
Current Third-Class Medical Certificate (or higher)
Training Location & Schedule: All training is conducted exclusively from our state-of-the-art facility at the Melbourne International Airport (MLB) satellite office. Dates are strictly pre-scheduled and capped at two applicants per weekend to ensure you receive the individualized instruction you deserve.

Spots are limited and fill quickly. Early reservation is strongly recommended to secure your preferred training dates. Training dates are secured with a deposit. Due to limited availability, deposits are required to confirm enrollment.
